Paerle, called Jill, was a stroke of luck for me and the Kennel vom Schwarzen Ulan. I had been looking for a bitch and asked colleagues in Denmark and Belgium to give me a hand. On a trip to a special championship breed show in Belgium celebrating the 100^th anniversary of the club, I met Jacques’ breeder again, who told us that there was a Malinois litter at the Kennel de la Belle Edita. We talked with Mr. Masson at the show and learned from him that the puppies were five weeks old and that we were welcome to visit there the following day on our way home.

Seldom have I seen such a uniform litter. I used the chance and got a Malinois from that litter

Nearly three weeks later I was on my way again to Belgium to pick up Paerle de la Belle Edita and to take her home. It happened to be on my husband’s birthday. Visitors had invaded the house, but even after a seven-hour drive and a totally strange environment, Paerle had no problem adjusting. I still remember her being quite effortlessly the centre of attention that day. Manon, Jill’s mother, was sold to someone in Britain half a year later. Mrs. Liz Richardson, Sabrefield Kennel, acquired her. Mrs. Richardson came to the Kennel de la Belle Edita two hours after me and bought Manon with the option to mate with Herau again. In this way Paerle had very successful and beautiful full-fledged siblings in Britain, the USA and Australia. Later they were also used there for breeding.	*Jill 6 month*

	I took Jill to eleven shows in four different countries. In 1991 she was the Best Puppy (bitch) in Dortmund; DKBS-Club junior bitch champion in 1992; FCI European bitch champion in 1992; DKBS-Club bitch champion in 1993 and German champion in 1993 and 1994.

Jill brought up five litters totalling 22 puppies: F- and J- litters from her kennel companion Neptune de Lancaumont, the G-litter with Ch. Markos de la Casa du Barry, the M-litter with Ch. Ixos du Haut de Bayle and the P-litter with Dart du Calvaire aux Acacias. I kept Guinn from the G-litter. She died in 2000 shortly after her mother.

I am particularly glad that Mr. Masson helped me find a suitable female. I’m grateful to him for entrusting me with an above-average, typical and all-around fantastic female.
